I find it semi-miraculous that Matt Huffman hasn't been tarred, feathered, and run out of the state on a rail. He is leading in the running for the most disingenuous political hacks in state history and yes I am including Larry Householder, Wayne Hays, and Donald Lukens.
I collected signatures in 2017 to put a referendum on the ballot for a constitutional amendment for a congressional redistricting commission (similar to what we adopted for the Ohio General Assembly). After we had gathered enough signatures to gain Huffman's attention, he offered a compromise requiring a 1/3 vote by the minority party to pass a congressional map. At this time I voiced my concern about my mistrust of the man. I cannot gloat in "I told you so" since it appears he also had no intention of honoring the Ohio Constitution.
Over 70% of Ohio citizens approved both the 2015 and 2018 ballot measures. These could not have been all Democrats. Huffman's desire for supermajority power has caused him to ignore the will of Ohio voters and try to delay the adoption of fair maps until he has a more pliable court. He is nothing more than a power-hungry corporate shill. The man is the paradigm of deceit. Everything that comes out of his mouth should be thoroughly fact-checked and searched for ulterior motives. He is, in fact, a professional liar.
