Who the hell is Krysten Sinema

Krysten Sinema is lying, confused, or both. It is also possible that she is suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder and the "asshole personality" is in charge now. It is difficult to document her early life as she has changed it several times; as Johnathan Martin wrote in The New York Times, Sinema has given "contradictory answers about her early life". There are a few variable facts: she was born in Tucson, Arizona on July 12, 1999, she has an older brother and a younger sister, her parents divorced when she was a child, and she, her siblings, her mother, and step-father moved to a small town in the Florida panhandle where she graduated from the local high school at the age of 16. When her step-father lost his job and the bank foreclosed on their house, the family lived in an abandoned gas station for three years.

From there, the 'facts; become a little hazy. According to Sinema, they lived for two years without running water or electricity. Possibly tiring of the bullshit, her mother and step-father filed court documents showing they had made monthly payments for gas, electricity, and phone bills. When asked if she may have overstated her childhood suffering, she replied, "I know what I lived through". What could be a possible motive for this deception? Was she hoping for a better 'rising from poverty' story? Maybe an alternate personality misrepresented the facts—I don't think would be above using something this outrageous as an excuse if her siblings confirmed their mother's version.

There is no question that she is an intelligent person, but with intelligence often comes an increased ability to deceive. Sinema was raised as a Mormon. She graduated with a B.A. from Brigham Young University at the age of 18. After which she immediately left the church and returned to Arizona. She worked as a social worker for a local school district in the Phoenix area from 1995 – 2002. She received a Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University at age 22, a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Arizona State University College of Law in 2004, and a Ph.D. in justice studies, also from ASU in 2012.

In 2003 she was an adjunct professor at ASU School of Social Studies and an adjunct professor at Arizona Summit Law School—she was teaching law before she was practicing the same. There can be no doubt about her intellect, other than the aforementioned possibility of DID. As a mind, an education is a terrible thing to waste. It seems she received her DA (Doctor of Assholery) from the School of Personality Disorders at an even earlier age than the other degrees.

She began her political career with certifiable liberal credentials. She was a member of the Arizona Green Party—quite ironic since The New York Times recently reported she proposed cutting $100 billion from the climate change portion of the budget; a claim she later denied—before joining the Democratic Party in 2005. She wrote a letter that was published by The Arizona Republic in 20002, "Until the average American realizes that capitalism damages her livelihood while augmenting the livelihoods of the wealthy, the Almighty Dollar will continue to rule". In protest of Joe Leiberman's presidential candidacy in 2004 she wrote."He’s a shame to Democrats ... I don’t even know why he’s running. He seems to want to get Republicans voting for him. What kind of strategy is that?" Oh, the irony! Her politics also dabbled with the crazy. In 2005 and 2006 she co-hosted a radio show with Jeff Farias (9/11 truther).

She first ran for the Arizona House of Representatives as a member of the Arizona Green Party and lost with only 8% of the votes. After she switched to the Democratic Party she won a seat with 37% of the vote; in Arizona, the top two vote receivers win and the incumbent came in third. She was reelected three times and became the assistant Minority Leader. She was elected to the Arizona Senate in 2010, defeating her Republican opponent by 26 points. She narrowly won election to the U.S. House in 2012 and was easily reelected in 2014 and 2016. She had earned credentials as a moderate Democrat.

So what happened? When she was running for Senate in 2018, for the seat held by Jeff Flake, she quickly raised $8 million, which was more than three of her Republican primary opponents combined. Simena wound up outraising her Republican opponent in the general election, Martha McSally, by a half-million dollars, with 70.8% of her contributions coming from large individual donors or PACs. Somewhere along the line, Krystan seems to have changed her attitude toward capitalism. She ran as a 'maverick', most likely to appeal to voters who formally voted for John McCain, and won by 2.4%.

Her tenure in the Senate has been mystifying and has led to former supporters denouncing her. She voted to confirm William Barr as Attorney General. She was one of four Democrats voting against the Green New Deal. She was the sole Democrat not to co-sponsor the Save the Internet Act, which would have restored Obama-era anti-throttling regulations on internet service providers. Early this year a spokesman said she is "not open to changing her mind about eliminating the filibuster". She does not return calls from President Biden and is in general, an asshole. She was rated by govtrack as the 47th most conservative member of the Senate, ahead of Rob Portman, Rand Paul, Richard Burr, Richard Shelby, and all other Democrats including Joe Manchin.

I have a conjecture as to why she changed when she got to Congress. From either in her studies or very early in her political career she learned how holders of public office become much more wealthy than their government salaries would indicate. Lots of campaign contributions – limited campaign spending = personal wealth. The other method is paid speaking engagements. She has become a prolific fundraiser and many of her contributors are not easily traced. Her fundraising through the 2nd quarter of 2021 has not revealed anything unusual, but the 3rd quarter reports have not been released yet. Most recently, corporations and their PACs have been contributing massive amounts to get candidates to oppose the Build Back Better Act and believe Senator Sinema has been a major beneficiary. Sometimes the brightest intellectuals become the most corrupt people.
