Part IV

Part IV is titled “Religion.” It contains essays about QAnon, the Christian right, and the inconsistencies and nonsense in the Old Testament.

Part V

Part V is the sad part for me, anyway. It is titled “In Memoriun” and contains short biographies of people I love who are no longer alive. First is my brother, whom I looked up to as a kid and considered a delayed victim of the Vietnam War. Next is my sister’s son and my first nephew, who had a family with four boys, one an infant, when he died way too young. Although the official diagnosis was MS, I consider him a victim of a factory using toxic chemicals; he wore a hazmat suit while working. Last is my best friend since third grade, who died two years ago. He was 68 and only died too young, by my estimate.

Synopsis of Ten Assholes and a Curmudgeon

Although ten assholes are featured in the title, it is only the last ten chapters of the book. Assholes of the Week was a feature of my blog and are satirical pseudo-biographies of Republican political figures voted as the top ten by my blog followers. I believe this is where the “hate” and “Wikipedia as a reference” comments in the posted review, which I recommend reading after your read this, come in.

You can view the table of contents, which I also recommend reading after this, to get an overall sense of the chapters and sections.

Part I

Part I contains personal essays about a period of my life, whether lies are protected speech, and some checks to determine whether you are an asshole.

Part II

Part II is essays about politics, including the actual causes of inflation, the current threats to the existence of our democratic republic, and the three class of Republicans.

Part III

Part III contains three essays about early US history. The essays are in three parts titled “The Floundering Fathers” and are accounts of those who attended the Constitutional Convention warts and all.

To cheer you up, unless you are a MAGA Republican, the last ten chapters are devoted to the assholes, including scoundrels such as Don Jr., Jim Jordan, Ron DeSantis, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and six more assholes.

I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

After reading this synopsis, the table of contents, and the review, I highly recommend going to the shop where you can buy this book for your very own.
